On the Tarmac Exhibit

Sasaki principal Dennis Pieprz travels extensively for work and documents his explorations with his iPhone. He developed a fascination with the numbers, lines, colors, and shadows of airport tarmacs and created a series of images that was displayed in his exhibit On the Tarmac at the Boston Society of Architects. The exhibit featured over 100 of Pieprz' compositions, interpretive graphics about the meanings behind tarmac graphics, and a map showcasing his travels. Wall graphics extended to the ground plane to lead visitors into the exhibit space.

Completed while working as a graphic designer at Sasaki in collaboration with Sam Pease, Director of Environmental Graphic Design and Sasaki’s graphic design studio.
